They did have a smell. Smelled like plastic but as soon as they aired out they no longer had a smell.

And I also washed the cover so it was fine. Is this pillow good for stomach sleepers? Yes I sleep on my stomach and side works great for any sleep position. Do yall sleep on the bamboo case or do you like to cover it with a 2nd case, like people often do traditional style pillows? I always use a traditional pillow case over the pillow. These are nice pillows and I'd like to keep them that way.
